Overview

Hundreds of communities across the country are considering providing reparations to Black people for past discrimination and the lingering impact of slavery.

Attorney and speaker Claire McFarland will present many elements of reparations for healing wrongs and restoring justice, including housing, economic development, education, and community circles.

Claire McFarland, is a descendent of enslaved people and a member of the historic Reparations Committee for the City of Evanston, the first government entity in the US to distribute reparations. She provides counsel to many local municipalities developing their own reparation programs, with over 30 years of experience as an attorney.
