The World and Wisdom of Nicholas Copernicus

““The order and magnitude of all the planets and the spheres and the heaven itself is so bound together [that] in no single part could one thing be altered without confusion among the other parts and in all the universe.” —Nicholas Copernicus ”

German-Polish astronomer Nicholas Copernicus was known for popularizing the scientific understanding that the Earth revolves around the sun as distinct from the reverse, which was the prevailing notion during his day.

What were the questions and moments  of courage behind the “Copernican Revolution?”

This day of reflection will open up the European Renaissance world of Nicholas Copernicus, the Islamic contributions that led to his conclusions, and the lasting lessons of re-examining our worldview.

As our cosmology shifts to embrace both the scientific and the spiritual underpinnings of our world, this day of reflection will explore the courage it takes to ask the questions that lead to a new cosmology.

Offered via Zoom: Sunday, February 13, 2022 from 1:00pm—3:00pm - Cost: $20
