Self-Portrait as Meditation: A Buddhist Approach

“Know Thyself —Socrates No-Self —Buddhist Doctrine of Anatta ”

-

Only one opening remains in this retreat.

Enjoy the unique experience of creating an acrylic self portrait that is gentle, relaxing, and truthful.  Explore the Buddhist art approach to mindfulness and non-aggression within the painting process.  Unexpected insights may arise as we reflect.

Our day is one of meditation, painting demonstrations, a painting session, and time to reflect.  The afternoon will include a question-and-answer session regarding how Eastern and Western art traditions differ.

Participants may wish to bring a self photo.  No experience necessary, and supplies will be provided.  Fearlessness will be encouraged.

The day begins at 9:00am and concludes at 4:00pm.
Cost of $55 includes $10 non-refundable deposit, noon meal and supplies.
This retreat has a waiting list.
