Nurturing Life’s Blessings

Embrace and nurture life’s blessings, all of them, in a retreat tailored to your individual encounter with the Holy. This retreat for women includes a daily meeting with a spiritual guide, time for solitude, and the opportunity to gather with others for prayer.


Sunday, July 17, to Saturday, July 23, 2022
The retreat begins on Sunday at 3:30pm and concludes with the mid-day meal on Saturday.


Cost of $545 includes $60 non-refundable deposit, spiritual guidance, overnight accommodations, and meals.

Deposits can be paid online at time of registration, by mailing a check made out to Siena Retreat Center, or by calling the front desk at 262-898-2590 to pay with a credit card.  Deposits must be received to complete registration.

Miriam Brown, OP, a Sinsinawa Dominican, is a spiritual guide, retreat facilitator, presenter on current spirituality themes, and was a team member of the Center’s Spiritual Guidance Training Program for over ten years. She has a master’s degree in Religious Studies from Fordham University and directed an ecumenical organization for 13 years. Miriam has an eye for the Spirit’s movement in the world and flowing in each person’s precious life. There currently is a waiting list for this spiritual guide.

Mary Therese Johnson, OP, is a Dominican sister who lives in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin, where she serves in pastoral care with her sisters in Siena Assisted Living community, and at St. Dominic Villa. Mary Therese practices mindfulness which helps her be more attentive to the present moment and the workings of the Holy Spirit. She invites companions to tap into their own life experience and inner wisdom as they seek a deeper spiritual life. There currently is a waiting list for this spiritual guide.

Marianne Kempa, SSND, a School Sister of Notre Dame, is currently serving as a Minister of Pastoral Care at the SSND retirement and Health Care Center. Marianne is a graduate of Siena Retreat Center’s Spiritual Guidance Training Program and continues to offer spiritual guidance as she welcomes companions to embrace the ‘star within’ and celebrate God’s abundance. She has a master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry, as well as degrees in Administration and Education.

Diane Poplawski, OP, a Racine Dominican, has been active in vocation ministry at national  and community levels and has ministered with Native Americans. She has a master’s degree in Pastoral Studies and is a graduate of Siena Retreat Center’s Spiritual Guidance Training Program. Diane resonates with Native American teachings and the prophet Micah’s invitation to “act justly, love tenderly, and walk humbly....” There is currently a waiting list for this spiritual guide.

Gail Ross, MSEd, is a mental health therapist and retreat leader. Formerly one of the leaders of the Spiritual Guidance Training Program, Gail has completed coursework for a master of divinity degree at Loyola University in Chicago. She has taught meditation and worked with groups and individuals in the process of grief and forgiveness. There currently is a waiting list for this spiritual guide.

Lorrita Verhey, SSND, has served as teacher and Family Nurse Practitioner with immigrants, the poor, and persons with chronic mental illness. Lorrita ministered in Ghana, Africa, where she managed an outpatient clinic. While teaching in the College of Nursing at the University of Illinois, she completed the Spiritual Guidance Training Program at Siena and an internship at Claret Center in Chicago. Lorrita offers retreat days with a focus on integrating creation spirituality and holistic daily living. There currently is a waiting list for this spiritual guide.

Linda Wieser, OSF, a Franciscan sister, is a holistic body therapist, spiritual guide, and Certified Personal Life Coach, who focuses on the whole person, integrating the healing of body, mind, spirit, and emotions. She holds a master’s degree from Creighton University and has done extensive study in body therapy and spiritual guidance. There currently is a waiting list for this spiritual guide.
