Investing with a Conscience: Leverage for the Common Good

How just is your organization’s portfolio?

Learn how your personal, business, or organization’s investments can leverage initiatives of peacemaking, environmental justice, human rights, and the common good.

In a keynote presentation and a panel format, knowledgeable and experienced presenters will cover such topics as asset pooling, shareholder activities and responsibilities, community development investments, and more.

This morning is appropriate for private individuals, as well as leaders or representatives from banks, accounting firms, universities and colleges, congregations, businesses, organizations, and others who are interested in how their investments can be catalysts for social change.

This day is a collaboration between the Racine Dominican Socially Responsible Investment Committee and Siena Retreat Center.

Christopher Cox is Associate Director of the Seventh Generation Interfaith Coalition for Responsible Investment. Before taking on the role of associate director, Chris led the Human Thread Campaign, a program of Seventh Generation Interfaith and Catholic effort to raise awareness, direct action, and build solidarity with garment workers. Previously, he served in multicultural and low income communities in the U.S. and Latin America.

Natalie Wasek joined the Seventh Generation Interfaith Coalition for Responsible Investment in August as Shareholder Advocacy Manager after spending a year of volunteer service with Franciscan Volunteers: No Risk, No Gain and the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia which was framed around ecological and social justice. She found a passion in working towards systemic change and is excited by the opportunity to continue to work and grow in this field. Natalie graduated magna cum laude from St. Bonaventure University with a B.B.A. in accounting.
