The Heart's Calling: Personal Vocation and Social Conscience

Callings always begin with a stirring of the heart.

This retreat will offer the opportunity to prayerfully consider callings in various areas of our lives. We will particularly explore the relationship between personal vocation and social conscience, being mindful that callings are not only about our own personal happiness and fulfillment, but about “us” and the common good.

In our personal discernment, and in our efforts to help others discern the call of the Spirit in their lives, we must seek a balance between contemplative, inward listening and socially engaged listening, between listening to our hearts and listening with our hearts for the ways that the needs and sufferings of the world are crying out for intelligent, compassionate attention from us.

There will be opportunities for quiet prayer and reflection and also for sharing of stories and experiences of personal calling.

Friday, January 29, to Saturday, January 30, 2021
The retreat starts at 7:00pm on Friday and concludes at 4:00pm on Saturday.
Cost of $195 includes a $55 non-refundable deposit, overnight accommodations, and meals.
