Evangelizer of the Americas: La Morenita (Indigenous Spirituality series)

The Indigenous people of Central America were deeply rooted in their tradition and customs.  They had great love of prayer, song, dance, and Earth.  When the Spaniards came trying to bring conversion, the Indians were forced to learn a new language and accept a new lifestyle.  Our Lady of Guadalupe was with these suffering people.

During this evening and morning of reflection, the presenter will play the guitar and teach songs in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe.  Special prayers, including the Litany of Our Lady of Guadalupe, will be incorporated into the presentation, and the symbolism of the image—which faithfully represents the person Juan Diego met on Tepeyac—will be explained.

The presentation will also explore the connection between the suffering of the Mayan and Aztec people and Indians in the United States.

Offered twice:
Tuesday, December 11, 2018; 6:30-8:00pm  OR

Wednesday, December 12, 2018; 9:30-11:00am
The feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe is December 12
