Bird Watching on the Siena Grounds and Eco-Spirituality

“In order to see birds, it is necessary to become a part of the silence.”

- Robert Lynd

This morning of reflection—on and in nature—features bird-watching and reflections on eco-spirituality.

The month of May is an exciting time to watch birds.  Our local birds, dressed in their fine breeding plumage and actively singing, are joined by many migrants.  Join us as we seek these colorful warblers, vireos, orioles, tanagers, hummingbirds, and many more species right on the Siena grounds.  Bring binoculars if you have them and dress for the weather.  Extra binoculars will be available to use if you need them.

During the reflection time, we will consider some aspects of Pope Francis’ letter “On Care for Our Common Home” that we share with all creatures on this planet Earth.  Our feathered friends, whether wild or domestic, are important reflections of God’s creativity and loving care of all of creation.
