Awakening: A Day of Celebration Through Creative Renewal

This day will begin with the option of a meditation circle led by Vimala Bhikkuni or Gentle Yoga session with Donna Mosca.

The remainder of the morning and the afternoon will offer a choice of Contemplative Art Workshops:

The day/weekend will close with a celebration of sending forth.

With great sadness, we must share that presenter and artist Steve Rys passed away this week. Please keep his family in your thoughts & prayers.

Cost of $55 includes $20 non-refundable deposit, mid-day meal, and art supplies. Please include first  and second choice of both the morning and afternoon workshop at the time of registration in “special needs” section.

Vimala Bhikkhuni has studied the Theravadan tradition of Buddhism and was ordained as a nun in 2007. Since then, she has been the only female monk at Blue Lotus Buddhist Temple in Woodstock, Illinois.

Donna Mosca owns and teaches at Peace Tree Yoga in Burlington, Wisconsin. She is also an adjunct faculty member in Exercise and  Sport Science at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Donna brings elements of mindfulness meditation to her yoga teachings.

Pat Shutts is an artist, retreat leader, and spiritual guide. With training in bereavement ministry and a master’s degree in Pastoral Studies, Pat brings her gift of compassionate listening.

Missy Isely-Poltrock is a Carthage College graduate and a member of the Lemon Street Gallery in Kenosha. She has had art pieces in shows such as the Anderson Arts Winter Juried Show, Watercolor Wisconsin, and Artful Women.

Jim Gill holds an MA in creation spirituality and is an iconographer, parish minister, spiritual guide, and retreat leader.

Patricia Fremarek is a plant science educator, ESL teacher and licensed professional counselor. She has been a Chinese Brush Painting enthusiast for fifteen years. She has taught in various venues, including St. Camillus Senior Living and the Boerner Botanical Gardens.
