Holy Week Retreat

“Living Holy Week following Jesus means learning how to come out of ourselves to reach out to others, to go to the outskirts of existence, to be the first to move towards our brothers and sisters...”

- Pope Francis

Our Holy Week retreat will begin each morning with a communal Lectio Divina of a text from the day's liturgy.  From our Lectio we will move into prayer and Biblical reflection, finishing the day with the eucharistic Breaking of Bread.  We will try to weave into one tapestry the story of the passion of Christ with the stories of passion and mercy in our world today.

Sunday, March 25, to Thursday, March 29, 2018
The retreat begins on Sunday at 4:30pm with Evening Prayer and supper and concludes with the noon meal on Thursday.  Brian Pierce will lead the retreat from Monday morning until the conclusion of the retreat.

Brian Pierce, OP,  is a Dominican friar  of the Province of St. Martin de Porres, an itinerant preacher, and the author of   We Walk the Path Together:  Learning from Thich Nhat Hanh and Meister Eckhart.  Brian has lived in Honduras, in Peru, and in Rome as the Order’s promoter for the nuns.  In 2015, Brian visited Iraq where he met with Dominican sisters working with refugees fleeing violence.
