The economic dimension of life has become dominant in recent decades, distorting human choices away from human well-being and toward monetary accumulation.  The focus has been on top-down descriptions of “progress” fed by mindsets conducive to compulsive consumption.  But the seeds of an alternative kind of economic system are sprouting in this country and around the world. As the slogan of the People’s Social Forum has being saying for many years: “Another World Is Possible.”  When we take a bottom-up perspective on the economic dimension of life, abundant evidence shows that another world is on its way.
